The gif files represent the original files used for the different
panels of Figures 1, 2, 3, 4. Their file names are of the form:

figX_panel_E_Y.0__N_ZZZZ.gif

with:

X=1,2,3,4 = figure number,
Y=0 for E=0 (left column panel for all figures) or
Y=1 for E=1 (right column panel for all figures)
ZZZZ=system size N with N=5000 (1st row), N=1000 (2nd row), N=0500 (3rd row)
     and N=0200 (4th row),
     (The corresponding values of W are given in the caption of Figure 1).

Further special cases:
1) names with fig4color_... represent color versions of fig4_...
2) names with figXreduced_... represent reduced gif versions (size
1000x1000 pixels) for the cases N=5000 and Figures 1,2,3.
The figures in the paper were created using these reduced versions
(for top panels).
The files figX_... for N=5000 are the original gif files of full size
5000x5000 which were used to create the reduced versions.
For N<=1000 the files figX_... are of size 1000x1000 or below and were
directly used for the creation of figures in the paper (lower three rows
of panels).

Under Linux the command "eog" is recommended to visualize the high resolution
figures since it allows for easy zoom with the mouse wheel.
